MR. KOH
With over 20 years of experience and more than 300 students under his belt, Mr. Koh is an expert at bringing out the best in his students. 100% of his students have seen improvement in their grades after attending his classes.
Mr. Koh is a Finance Executive Director with extensive teaching experience as an insurance college lecturer, examiner, exam setter, and marker for NTU. He holds the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance, qualifying him to teach adults. Moreover, he has taught many children of fellow educators, including MOE cluster superintendents, principals, heads of departments (HODs), and teachers.
Having taught since the age of 13, Mr. Koh has a solid understanding of both students’ difficulties and the teacher’s POV . This insight helps him create personalised worksheets, cheat sheets and exam papers that ensure that his students are well-prepared for exams. He makes his lessons fun and enjoyable for his students while making tough questions easy to grasp. By adapting different teaching methodology for each student, he provides them with a personalised learning experience to suit their needs. For students who need extra support, Mr. Koh goes the extra mile to help them outside of classes.
MS. AGNES
Ms. Agnes has been teaching for 14 years as a private tutor and 4 years as a group tutor. She has taught over 100 students till date and 95% of her students have seen their grades improve after being taught by her.
Leveraging her experience as both private and group tutor, she is able to strike a good balance between individual guidance and an independent approach to cater to students with different learning capabilities. She believes in getting to know her students to understand their strengths, weaknesses and learning style to customise her teaching methods to fit their needs, enabling efficient learning.
She uses real-life examples, case studies and visual aids to help her students relate better to concepts taught. How does PKLC cater to different learning levels?
PKLC has a personalised teaching approach where we identify the student’s strengths and areas to improve. Based on these, we adopt multiple teaching methods to enhance the experience of the students - i.e. Show and Learn for visual learners and Feynman Technique to simplify complex subjects. How long is each tuition session?
Each tuition session will last about 1.5 hours to 2 hours (JC and Secondary school - 2 hours, Primary School - 1.5 hours)
How often should my child attend tuition classes?
Students are encouraged to attend classes weekly or biweekly depending on their needs.
Do you provide additional study materials?
Yes, PKLC creates our own study materials for our students. Students have a chance to try out new and unique questions that are aligned with the current syllabus.
